Every summer I have friend up for a weekend to hangout in the Adirondacks at the lake. What made this weekend even more special and unusual was all the wildlife we were able to see. We did the usual tubing, boating, and (attempting) to ski, but on Saturday morning we all agreed to get up with the sun and kayak down to the outlet.
I decided to brave the misty waters and bring my DSLR camera with a number of different lenses, including my telephoto. And it was entire worth it.
- The Common Loon
- Bald Eagle
- Painted Turtle
- Great Blue Heron
- Eastern Newt
- Common European toad
- Common frogs
Unfortunately I didn’t get photos of everything, but the one photo I am so happy about is capturing the loon with my DSLR!!! It is a shot of a lifetime, and one that I have been after for years. I have lived on the lake for my entire life and never have I been able to get a photograph like the one above.
